Liane Payne mainly works as an illustrator, but hey, why stick to just one style? Coming from a fine art background, she’s got all those classic, hands-on skills like drawing, painting, hand lettering, and printmaking. On top of that, she’s a total pro with Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator—she actually enjoys the nitpicky stuff like maps and family trees (seriously, who else does that?).

She spent nearly a decade as an illustrator’s agent at Young Artists (later known as Arena) and, during her time as Art Director at Simon & Schuster, she frequently commissioned illustrations herself. So yeah, she’s been on both sides of the creative table.

Alongside creating and managing illustration and design, she’s also taught at the former London College of Printing and even ran her own part-time courses in illustration and printmaking.
