Mary Stubberfield was born in Eastbourne, Sussex, and studied Illustration at Bournemouth College of Art. She spent time in London working with publishers and designers, creating illustrations for books, magazines, greeting cards, ads, and packaging. Eventually, her travels to India and the Mediterranean inspired her to start exhibiting her paintings, and she even snagged the Art for Youth prize in 1994—no small feat! She was part of Skylark Gallery on the South Bank, and her work has been showcased across London, the UK, the US, and Greece, now finding homes in private collections worldwide. Inspired by nature, the seaside, and cats, Mary loves experimenting with watercolors, oils, acrylics, and lino printmaking.
